Sol Courreges graduated in Graphic Design and Fine Arts at the University of Buenos Aires. She worked in advertising agencies and design studios in Argentina and the United States, where she also obtained a Master’s degree in Art, and in 1999 she set up her own studio, Ideaslocus, in Sitges. In 2009 she founded Artecrearte, with the idea of recycling disused elements to create accessories, fashion accessories and decoration, and to leave a positive footprint. She has participated in recycled art exhibitions such as Recicla Madrid (Caixaforum), Mercantic (Sitges), Lab Arte (Asturias), Centro Grabrielet (Formentera) and Drap-Art (CCCB and Sala Perill in Barcelona, Instituto Cervantes in Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo, Re:New Festival in Pittsburgh…).
She currently combines her creative work with the management of several gallery-shops in Formentera and artivism to reduce the pollution of nature by plastics, giving workshops, editing books, organising exhibitions, encouraging people to consume less plastic and to keep beaches and their environment clean, in general.
