Rafael Arroyo Villemur (Gijón, 1957)
The artistic production of Rafael Arroyo Villemur has focused for years on his commitment to sustainability. His work integrates fire enamel, a traditional artistic technique in Catalonia connected to luxury, combined with objects that he has found by chance of no economic value. He denounces waste culture and opposes the concept of “using and dumping” with values such as tending and repairing.
Rafael Arroyo Villemur received the title of “Mestre Artesà” by the Generalitat de Catalunya in 2011.
