Juan Carlos Batista (Tegueste, Tenerife, 1960)
Batista has a Bachelor of Fine Arts. His work moves between the surreal, the conceptual and the political, with a great concern for ecology and large doses of black humor. He works sculpture, installation, and photography. His latest solo exhibitions include Sad Meat at Casal Solleric, It’s time that it be time at N2 Galería, La tinchera errante at CIC El Almacén de Lanzarote. His individual project Reality almost smoke was carried out at the La Regenta Art Center in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, at the Juan Ismael in Fuerteventura and at the TEA (Tenerife Espacio de las Artes).
