Ramiro Sobral lived most of his life in Tucumán, Argentina. In 2007 he arrived in Barcelona, where he opened his bicycle shop, El Ciclo, in the Gothic Quarter, in 2013. There he came up with the idea of creating a collection of lamps with the leftover bicycle parts that accumulated in his workshop. Over the years he has recycled thousands of bicycle parts.
With this project, which he has christened Bicicletas que vieron la luz (Bicycles that saw the light), he tries to recover, recycle and reuse these old and used bicycle parts to give them a new life. Little by little he has created a collection of all kinds of lamps. They are composed of bicycle parts such as spokes, brake discs, hubs, chains, etc., although no lamp is the same, the origin of its components can be detected at a glance. In addition to the lamps, he has started to make some pieces of furniture, such as the stools shown here.
